State Flags for $500, Alex - Mike Huckabee Lost on Jeopardy!

Ok, I said I didn't want to get all political but this just takes the cake...

Direct Quote from Schmuckabee....

"In fact, if somebody came down to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we’d tell’em where to put the pole."

I'm sorry Mike Huckabee, I just don't get the flag thing. Dude, you're a "politician" and you actually said this. I don't care that you came from humble beginnings, a man aspiring to be president just doesn't TALK like this.

Alluding to telling someone to shove a pole up their arse doesn't sound very appropriate for someone with his eyes on the Oval Office, I'm just sayin'
And there's a slight technicality in your logic.

The CONFEDERATE FLAG IS NOT THE OFFICIAL FLAG OF SOUTH CAROLINA - so your comment makes NO DAMN SENSE.

Moron.

New England Patriots or Playing With My Cleaning Products...How to Choose?

Really, I had planned on making Sunday the super-dee-duper day of housecleaning because it's gotten rather 'untidy' as the Brits say.

But, alas, the Pats are on tomorrow and I don't know how to choose between the vast supply of fabulous smelling and super-scrubbing cleaning products I purchased at Dollar Tree or Tom Brady freezing his cajones off in Foxboro while he and the Pats kick San Diego's arse.

Decisions, Decisions...

So, I'll be wearing my New England Patriots hooded sweatshirt all day tomorrow, which is good because the high in Charleston is expected to be in the mid-40's. I've become such a wimp these last few months when it comes to cold. I used to wait for the "T" in 20 degree weather without a coat and now I'm just such a wuss.

Kickoff is at 3 p.m. will I get my cleaning done before then? We shall see!!!

Oh, and yeah... politically today was an interesting day but I don't want to play that game right now.

Cheers!

Better than having to download free movie trailers all afternoon....

So this morning we woke up knowing that we wanted a special way to 'celebrate' the little girls birthday, she turned 8 on Wednesday and the boy turned 10 on Thursday. They're each not having the traditional birthday party this year because frankly, since moving to South Carolina, we just don't have the extra hundreds of dollars in the bank like we did in Boston. Because, well, in case you didn't know - South Carolina jobs don't pay.

Anyway....

We decided to take the kids to a matinée to see Alvin and the Chipmunks - oh, and if you're like me and enjoyed watching the the movie trailer all last month on TV, here it is free, just for you, no need to download anything...

There are a few positives to living here in South Carolina, one of which the cheapo movie theater - Cinemark on Ladsen in Summerville.

Let's just run the numbers for a minute. At our favorite theater in Massachusetts, this movie would have cost the five of us $37 just to get in and be seated for a matinée; that doesn't include exorbitantly priced soda, popcorn and candy.

We got into Cinemark for a mere $13.75 for matinée and then bought popcorn and soda and we were still under the $22 mark.

Can ya believe it?? So, yeah - as much as I complain about S.C., there are some benefits.

It was a really cute movie, some of the songs and themes brought me right back to my childhood.. "Alvin, Alvin?... AAAAHHHLVIIINNNN!!!!!!

Then, off to Cici's Pizza for a late lunch - which was actually pretty decent; it was my first time going and I expected Chuck E Cheese quality, it was probably a step up from CEC but without the loud noise and chaos, and under $27; I can't complain.

Happy Birthday to You - Sing to me in Hindi, banghra, bollywood - it's all good!

I've been rather obsessed lately with music from India; it all started with Truth Hurts in 2001 or 2002 then I found the original song that Truth Hurts was sued for - you can't listen to this and not LOVE it!

And this one makes me want to dance...

Ok, my point is... I love this music - can't understand a word of it but I love it and since next Wednesday is my 33rd birthday, I wanted to hear Happy Birthday to You in Hindi and I FOUND IT... at least I think I did, remember, I don't understand a word of it - it just sounds cool.

Now, lets discuss one thing about living in Waltham, MA that I miss... shopping at all of the ethnic stores, specifically Patel Brothers Grocery Store on Moody Street - so... anyone know where I can find a similiar EAST Indian type grocery store in the Charleston area??
